Στη διαδικασία της Hyperpole, όπου επί μισή ώρα οι οδηγοί παλεύουν για τον καλύτερο χρόνο και την pole position και στις τρεις κατηγορίες, λίγοι περίμεναν αυτό το αποτέλεσμα στα Hypercar.
Η Ferrari 499P, που έφερε τη Scuderia ξανά στην κορυφαία κατηγορία του 24ωρου αγώνα του Le Mans και ευελπιστεί να τη φέρει και στη νίκη μετά από πέντε δεκαετίες, έκανε το 1-2, με τους Antonio Fuoco και Alessandro Pier Guidi στο τιμόνι.
Η Toyota περιορίστηκε στην 3η θέση με το #8, ενώ για την Porsche, που κι αυτή με τη σειρά της επιστρέφει στην top κατηγορία μετά από καιρό, το αποτέλεσμα ήταν το 4-7.
Στα LMP2, η Idec Sport των Paul Lafargue, Paul Loup Chatin και Laurents Horr πήρε την pole, μπροστά από τις πάντα ανταγωνιστικές JOTA και WRT.
Στην LMGTE Am, η Corvette Racing, στην τελευταία της ημιεργοστασιακή συμμετοχή στο Le Mans για το προσεχές μέλλον, πήρε την πρωτιά στις κατατακτήριες, επικρατώντας των ORT by TF με Aston Martin Vantage AMR και AF Corse με Ferrari 488 GTE Evo.
