Μία Toyota Supra, ένα ακραίο Mazda RX-7 και μία Porsche 911 παλεύουν στο 400άρι (video)

Το κανάλι του Carwow στο YouTube επιστρέφει στις κόντρες με τρία τελείως ετερόκλητα αυτοκίνητα στη βρεγμένη άσφαλτο.

Ξεκινώντας με την Toyota Supra, αυτή φέρει έναν 3λιτρο κινητήρα twin-turbo, με το ένα από τα δύο όμως να αφαιρείται, ενώ έχει πλέον τοποθετηθεί και 8τάχυτο κιβώτιο της ZF από μία BMW 530d. Στο τέλος, μαζί με άλλες μετατροπές, φτάνει τα 700 PS και τα 780 Nm ροπής, ενώ ζυγίζει 1.500 κιλά.

Έπειτα, το Mazda RX-7, επίσης βελτιωμένο σε σχέση με την εργοστασιακή του εκδοχή, κάτι που φαίνεται και οπτικά, φέρει 4κύλινδρο κινητήρα 2L από Civic Type R, που έχει πλέον και turbo. Είναι αυτοκίνητο κατάλληλο για time attacks, με την προσθήκη αρκετών αεροδυναμικών μερών, ενώ μαζί με τη «δίαιτα» που πέρασε φτάνει πια τα 840 κιλά.

Τέλος, η Porsche 911 Carrera T έχει 3λιτρο κινητήρα με turbo, ικανό για 385 PS και ροπή στα 450 Nm. Φτάνει τα 1.470 κιλά, και είναι το πιο στοκ όχημα στην κόντρα.

So let’s see how these two compare. Starting with the Supra, the original 3-litre straight-six twin-turbo has had one of the turbos removed, while the original automatic gearbox has been swapped for an 8-speed ZF gearbox from a BMW 530d. It’s also fitted with a transbrake that’ll help to build up boost and propel it off the line. All of this means the Supra can produce an incredible 700hp and 780Nm of torque. It tips the scales at around 1,500kg, and to buy this exact car would cost around £80,000 - £40k for the base car, and £40k for the mods. Then we have the RX-7, which has had so many mods applied to it that it’s hardly even an RX-7 anymore! Under the bonnet you’ll find a 2-litre 4 cylinder from the original Civic Type R which has also had a turbo added to it, and it’s also fitted with a manual gearbox from a BMW 330d. Given it’s a time attack car, it has been absolutely stripped and added with tonnes of aero, and it now tips the scales at just 840kg! But there’s also a special guest contender to take on both of these cars - a 911 Carrera T! It’s fitted with the standard 3-litre turbocharged flat-six, and this can produce 385hp and 450Nm of torque. It weighs in at 1,470kg, but the question is, will the power-to-weight ratio help it propel itself to victory?
